This series of works weave memory, time, light, shadow, and place into a visual language that evokes a sense of unity. Through the delicate interplay of natural elements and the photographic process, I seek to capture fleeting moments that transcend their impermanence, revealing connections between the ephemeral and the enduring.
I begin by observing the ephemeral dance of shadows cast by plants onto the walls of my space throughout the day. These fleeting moments, captured in photographs, become a record of time’s passage and the ever-changing interplay of light and form.
I translate the three-dimensional space of the wall into a two-dimensional photograph. By folding the vertical wall line in printed image, I reintroduce a sense of depth, creating a bridge between the captured image and the physical space it originated from. By reintroducing dimensionality, I create an interplay between the real and the imagined.
This act of documentation and re-presentation reflects my fascination with how the mundane and the momentary can unify into something timeless. The folding of the frame invites viewers to question the boundaries between photography, sculpture, and lived experience
These folded photographs become artifacts, embodying the unity of observation, creation, and the material world. They invite viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of all and the fleeting beauty of the present moment.
